FAQ

Do you have a question? Of course we are happy to help if you send us an email at info@hockey-mat.com But you may find your answer sooner in our frequently asked questions.

What kind of hockey ball is best to use?
You can use any kind of hockey ball. An indoor ball plays a little lighter than a regular smooth field ball. A dimpled field ball, on the other hand, plays a bit heavier on the mat. Try out what works best for you.

How does the Hockey-Mat play?
Really nicely! Because the ball presses into the mat slightly and the surface feels soft, the ball moves very smoothly.

Can I stand on the mat with shoes on?
Yes, that’s no problem. Just make sure your shoes are clean and dry. The surface of the Hockey-Mat is very strong and will hardly wear.

Are the edges sturdy?
The edges are made of sturdy fabric with an inflatable tube inside, which you inflate with the pump supplied. You can ‘bounce’ the ball off the edges really well, and it makes hardly any noise.

Can the inflatable tube get a puncture?
Yes, that can happen. If you open the zip, you can take the inflatable tube out. You can then seal the leak with one of the patches supplied.

Is the Hockey-Mat easy to put away?
Absolutely! Once you let the air out, you can simply roll up the mat. Use the tube supplied to prevent creases. Creases disappear by themselves, or you can remove them with a hairdryer or an iron.

Can I also use the Hockey-Mat outdoors?
The Hockey-Mat is made especially for indoor use, so it is better not to use it outside.

How do I clean the mat?
The top layer of the Hockey-Mat is made of polyester. Vacuuming it now and then keeps the mat looking good and clean. Do make sure your shoes are clean and dry when you stand on it. If you do get stains on it, you can remove them by dabbing (not rubbing) with a damp cloth and lukewarm water.
