About us

Ball control (also known as stick-and-ball skills) is the foundation of good hockey. Good ball control boosts your self-confidence and makes hockey a lot more fun.

To get good ball control, you simply have to practise a lot, preferably on the right surface.

I noticed that the only place you can really practise your stick-and-ball skills in good conditions is at the hockey club. And unfortunately that is only a few hours a week.

As a passionate hockey player, I thought it would be great to develop something that would make hockey players across the Netherlands happy. In 2022, Halil Terzi and I started with the idea of developing a sustainable mat on which you can play hockey safely and well indoors. And we succeeded!

In June 2024, the Hockey-Mat was introduced  at a youth tournament at Alecto in Leiderdorp. Judging by the reactions there, we can honestly say that hockey players across the Netherlands are happy with it.

My name is Guus Welling. As an inventor and entrepreneur, I have been developing baby products with Halil Terzi under the brand name Nifty since 2010 (www.nifty-baby.com).  With Nifty we developed, among other things, the Baby Shower Glove, which gives new parents a better grip on their baby in the shower.
